elementary math
I am no math wiz. However, I feel very comfortable with the basics, and I am confident in my abilities to convey mathematical concepts. Children can have difficulty understanding conceptual information (such as mathematics) because of their developmental stage; conceptual understanding becomes more advanced as the human brain grows and establishes more complex neural networks. Given my background in psychology, I have no doubt that I can successfully convey such concepts to elementary students -- and, of course, students of any age.
elementary science
I loved science in elementary school -- biology was my favorite subject. Science holds a special place in my heart and mind, so the knowledge I've gathered is readily available for teaching, especially at the elementary level where the focus is broad. Throughout my 16-year educational career (with more to come) I have honed my researching abilities. Thus, even if I am unsure of a particular bit of information, I can most certainly uncover it with ease!
